Jin Yaomei. Female. A professor and a doctoral tutor at the School of Marxism at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST). Jin is from Haiyan, Zhejiang Province and received a PhD in Marxist philosophy from the School of Philosophy at Fudan University. She is on the board of the Society of Contemporary Foreign Marxism Research of China, the Society of Marxist Philosophy History of China, and the Society of Scientific Socialism of Shanghai.Jin’s research focuses on contemporary overseas Marxism, socialism with Chinese characteristics, and Marxist philosophy. She was selected as a promising talent of social science in Shanghai and a Dawn scholar in Shanghai in 2015, an outstanding young talent teaching and studying Marxism in Shanghai in 2017, an outstanding university teacher of ideology and politics in Shanghai and the most admirable ideological and political teacher in Shanghai in 2016, a Sunshine scholar in Shanghai in 2011. She also chaired and completed 2 National Social Science Fund projects, 1 sub-project of a major project of National Social Science Fund, 8 Shanghai projects and 5 projects of USST. Jin has published over 70 papers in journals including Philosophical Research, Teaching and Research, Marxism & Reality, Studies on Marxism, and Contemporary World and Socialism. She also published 3 books and edited 4 books. Jin won Shanghai Yucai Award (Award for Bringing up Talents) in 2016 and the third prize in Shanghai Teaching Competition in 2014. Moreover, Jin has been abroad eight times as a visiting scholar or on an academic exchange.
