As time goes by, graduation comes again on the lovely April. On the afternoon of April 12, the School of Marxism held a postgraduate graduation ceremony for the class of 2019 in the meeting room 301. The ceremony brought together Shi Xiaoming, Deputy Secretary of the Supervisory Committee of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST), Peng Zongxiang, Secretary of the CPC Branch of the School of Marxism, Dean Jin Yaomei, Deputy Dean Hu Xuming, tutors and graduates. The ceremony was hosted by Fan Jiayi, an ideological and political education major in the class of 2021.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Dean Jin delivered a speech to the graduating students. First, she thought it was a joy for them to meet and be friends in their best years. Second, three years being fleeting, she thanked the graduates for their contribution to the school. The young school of Marxism was full of vitality thanks to the young students. At last, Dean Jin said that boundless was the sea for fish to dive at will, unlimited was the sky for birds to fly at ease. She hoped the graduates could be true warriors bravely facing challenges and storms in life, and they could be safe and happy.
Next, an ideological and political education major in the class of 2019, Yu Qinwen had a lecture on graduation. On behalf of all the graduates, he expressed their sincere gratitude to leaders and teachers of the school and the university for their hard work, encouragement, and to lerance in the past three years. They would never forget the spirit of the alma mater and the cultivation of the school for the rest of their lives, taking every step of their lives with considerable confidence and unshakeable faith.
Next, on behalf of tutors, Professor Liu Ke also made a speech. After telling three stories that happened around her, Professor Liu concluded that time would take everything away, but one should make the others live better. In obscurity, one should maintain his integrity. In times of success, one should perfect the whole world. It was a farewell party, yet it was also a day to wish them a good journey.
